Campus-in-Campus Meeting in Kazakhstan

On October 30-31, the Annual Meeting of the Campus-in-Campus (CiC) network was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. CiC Initiative is a global alliance of universities committed to fostering transborder educational and research exchanges that transcend national and institutional boundaries.

The meeting was attended by our President, Prof. NAGATA Kyosuke; Vice President and Executive Director for Global Affairs, Prof. IKEDA Jun; Vice President for Collaborative Research, Prof. NAKAUCHI Yasushi; and Director of the Office of Global Initiatives, Prof. SAKURAI Takeaki. Over 30 representatives from eight CiC partner universities also participated.

Campus-in-Campus Meeting in Kazakhstan

During the event, CiC partners shared updates on their activities, achievements, and challenges. The discussions focused on future initiatives within the CiC network, culminating in the co-creation of the CiC Action Plan. This plan emphasizes strengthening three key areas: Circular Collaborative Research, Borderless Education, and Global Industry-Academia Cooperation. As initial steps, the CiC network launched a dedicated information exchange platform and announced the establishment of a CiC Seed Fund accessible to all members.

Following the declaration of the CiC Action Plan, the Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Prof. TUIMEBAYEV Zhanseit, conferred the title of Honorary Professor upon President NAGATA Kyosuke, further solidifying the partnership between the two universities.
